How to use
Choose an image, select a transparency background and enter JPEG quality from 1 to 100. Leave quality blank to use 92. Generate the result, inspect both images, then download the JPG.
Examples
PNG to JPG removes transparency: a transparent 800 × 600 PNG becomes an 800 × 600 opaque JPG, with the chosen color behind translucent edges. WebP to JPG uses the same process. An opaque 1200 × 800 WebP keeps its decoded dimensions; choosing a background does not recolor opaque pixels. JPEG to JPG re-encodes an existing photograph at the selected quality.
How the output works
JPG is a lossy format suitable for photographs. Quality 100 still does not make JPEG lossless or restore missing detail. Lower settings can introduce blocks, ringing and blurred text. A smaller quality number usually saves space, but this tool does not promise a target file size. The original file is never overwritten.
Limits and troubleshooting
Input is limited to one static PNG, JPEG or WebP, 20 MB, 24 million pixels and 12,000 pixels on either side. Animated PNG/WebP, SVG, HEIC, PDF and other formats are excluded. A filename extension alone does not establish the format; the content is checked before decoding. If a new file fails, the last valid source is retained.
Saving and compatibility
The browser applies embedded JPEG orientation while decoding, so portrait photographs remain upright. Output preserves decoded pixel dimensions without resizing. Camera metadata is not retained as a preservation feature. Browser color management can affect appearance; this is not an archival color-profile conversion tool.
Frequently asked questions
Are files uploaded?
No. Image decoding, editing and exports run in this browser. Only bundled application assets and fonts are loaded from this site.
Why did the download become unavailable?
Editing invalidates the previous output. Generate again to ensure that the downloaded file matches your current settings.
Will my work survive a reload?
No. There is no project storage. Save your result before reloading, changing language or leaving this page.
What does Clear do?
It clears the image, settings and output. Remove clears only the current source image and its output, preserving other settings.
