How to use
A palette is ready when you open the page: you do not need to enter any colors. Choose 3–8 colors and a relationship, then Generate palette to try another combination. Lock a color you like; only unlocked colors change on the next generation. Press the same lock button again to release it.
Method and interpretation
Candidates use HSL relationships: analogous hues are spaced by 25°, complementary hues by 180°, triadic hues by 120°, and monochromatic colors share one hue. Lightness ranges from 30% to 75% and saturation from 60% to 80%. With a locked color, the first locked position anchors the hue relationship; additional locks retain their exact colors.
Examples
To build a three-color set, choose 3, generate, and lock your favorite card. Generate again to replace the other two. To make an optional adjustment, click the small color swatch at the front of its HEX field, or edit the HEX text behind it. An edited color locks automatically, and its preview and export update together.
Limits and errors
Copy exports the current palette as a HEX list or CSS properties --color-1, --color-2 and so on. Changing the copy format keeps the colors. SVG and PNG download the same ordered strip with HEX labels. An incomplete HEX keeps its editor visible and disables copying and downloads until fixed. Clear removes the current palette and locks; Generate starts again without requiring inputs.
Frequently asked questions
Are harmonious results guaranteed?
No. These color relationships offer useful starting points, not a guarantee of taste or a personal-color diagnosis. Card labels use black or white for readable contrast; check the actual text/background pairs in your design. Only opaque six-digit sRGB HEX is supported, with no photo analysis or gradients.
