Choose a design
Choose Studio, Editorial or Bold, then add your brand name, logo and palette. The result is a designed visual guide, not a blank document. Template changes affect the layout while keeping your assets. The full guide includes a visual overview, logo examples, type specimens, application mockups and any written rules. Visual overview exports one page of essentials instead.
Start with identity and context
Replace the gray fictional North Studio examples with your own brand name, tagline and introduction. Focusing a gray field clears the linked examples. Leaving all content empty restores them; real values, added rows and settings stay intact. A brand name is required. Use the introduction to explain who the brand serves and what it wants readers to understand. Add a version or date so a collaborator can identify the document you meant to share.
Record your visual rules
A logo is optional. Choose a PNG, JPEG or WebP image up to 2 MB and 16 million pixels. The image is processed locally and reduced to a maximum dimension of 1,024 pixels, preserving its proportions. SVG and remote image links are not supported. State useful logo rules, such as required clear space, allowed backgrounds and prohibited distortion. Add up to eight colors with a short name or purpose and a three- or six-digit HEX value. These are screen-color references, not a certified CMYK or spot-color conversion.
Choose real type styles
Choose sans serif, serif or monospace independently for headings and body text. You see real specimens, and those same styles are used in the PDF. Fonts come from this device, so the exact fallback can differ on another computer. Recorded font names under Writing and usage rules preserve references from older drafts; they do not install or activate those fonts.
Two example starting points
For example, a studio can choose Editorial, a serif heading and a sans-serif body, then upload its logo and choose Use logo colors. Review the extracted colors, name their roles and check the generated business card and website header. A community project without a logo can use its name as a clearly labeled placeholder and export a visual overview. Add the approved logo later before sharing final brand rules.
Write rules people can act on
Open Writing and usage rules when you want to add a brand introduction, version, logo rules, typography instructions or voice examples. These fields are optional. The full guide appends every entered paragraph and flows long text onto further pages; the one-page overview intentionally leaves these rules out. Each long-text field accepts 3,000 characters. Logo clear-space percentages are illustrated starting points: confirm them and the background choices for your actual brand.
Save, print and keep the source
The preview updates automatically after editing. Use Previous and Next to inspect every page, then choose Download PDF or Print. A4 and US Letter are supported. PDF and print use the same page images; PDF text is not selectable. Save editable draft downloads the assets, layout, type styles and rules as JSON. Open draft preserves old drafts and intentional blanks. Clear removes saved content while retaining the current paper and design settings. Keep a downloaded source copy.
Can I make a guide without a logo?
A logo is optional. With no logo, the visual guide shows your brand name and labels it as a name preview. No logo design is generated. Once you add a logo, inspect it on both backgrounds; uploading a logo does not automatically make every illustrated use appropriate.
Why is my color rejected?
Use #RGB or #RRGGBB with hexadecimal digits 0–9 and A–F. A named color row needs a value. Color names such as teal, RGB expressions and transparency are not accepted as HEX values.
Can I edit an exported PDF here?
No. Reopen the JSON draft, update the fields and export again. The PDF is a finished image-based document, not the editable source.
Does the tool supply my chosen font?
Only fonts already available on this device are used for the selected styles. No font files are downloaded, bundled or licensed. A reference font name is preserved as a note, not silently presented as an installed typeface.
Where are the brand and logo stored?
The maker does not upload your input or logo to a service. Drafts remain in this browser or downloaded files. A person using the same browser profile may access a local draft, so clear it after using a shared device and keep your own downloaded copy.
