Make a card your team can use
Use this tool to prepare a batting-order card for a practice, scrimmage or game. Enter player names, jersey numbers and the positions you want to record. The order on screen becomes the printed order. Optional game details identify the opponent, date, venue and coach. You can leave any of those details blank. This is a document maker, so it does not select players, optimize a lineup or check eligibility.
Build and review your lineup
Replace the gray fictional examples with your own information. Selecting a gray field clears the linked examples. Leaving all content empty restores them; your real values, added rows and settings are preserved. Add batters or substitutes, then use the up and down buttons to change their order. These buttons also work with a keyboard. Remove a row you do not need. The tool supports up to 30 batters and 20 substitutes, rather than requiring exactly nine players. Paste a roster: One player per line. Optional: Name | Number | Position. Replaces example players and keeps your own players.
Positions and checks
Position is a text field. You may write P, C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, LF, CF, RF, DH or another label used at your event. The tool does not decide how a designated hitter, extra hitter or substitution should work. Check those rules with your event organizer. A partly completed row needs a player name. Fully blank rows are omitted. Repeated names, numbers or starting positions produce a review notice, but do not block a valid card: repetitions can be intentional.
Two everyday examples
For a nine-player game, replace the nine sample names and numbers, check their positions and add two substitutes. Move the leadoff batter with the arrow buttons, create the preview and compare it with your intended order. For a smaller practice group, remove unused sample rows and leave positions blank if you only need a batting list. Record rotation or substitution instructions in Notes. Review that note before distributing the card.
Create, save and print
Choose A4 or US Letter and select Create preview. Review every page, including long names and the substitutes section. Any input change removes the old preview, so generate it again before exporting. Download PDF saves the displayed pages as images; text in that PDF is not selectable. Use the text version beneath the preview when you need to read or copy the content. Print uses the same page images. Choose the matching paper size and avoid adding browser headers or footers. Blank 9-slot card: The blank card has 9 batting slots and 4 substitute lines for handwriting. Your editable roster is kept.
Keep an editable original
Save editable draft downloads a JSON file containing the fields, row order and paper choice. Open draft restores that file and replaces the current form, including intentional blank fields. It is not a PDF importer. Changes are also saved in this browser when storage is available. Clear removes the local draft and returns the fictional examples. Keep the downloaded draft for a reliable backup, especially on shared devices or before clearing browser data.
Does the card certify league compliance?
No. Lineup sizes, positions, DH use and substitutions differ. The tool records your choices without certifying competition rules.
Can I use accented or Japanese names?
Yes, the document is drawn with fonts available on your device. Inspect unusual characters in the preview; a device without the needed glyph may show an empty box.
Why did a row disappear from the output?
Completely blank rows are skipped. A row containing a number or position without a name instead stops creation and asks you to complete or empty it.
Can I change a saved PDF?
Reopen the JSON draft in this tool, edit it and create a new PDF. The exported PDF is a finished image-based document, not an editable form.
Are my players sent to a server?
The maker processes the lineup in your browser. Drafts remain in local browser storage or files you download. The tool does not send your player fields to a service. Anyone using the same browser profile may be able to reopen the saved draft.
